Why Breakfast Matters
It’s early. Children are arriving at school—some tired, some buzzing with energy, all hungry.
Breakfast club is where the day begins: bellies are filled, friendships are made, and routines take shape.
But for children with food allergies, breakfast can also be a moment of stress or exclusion.
What if the food isn’t safe? What if someone shares their toast? What if I’m asked to sit alone?
At the Benedict Blythe Foundation, we believe no child should start their day feeling left out—or at risk, and so do our partners at Creative Nature, Welsh Allergy Mummy and Allergy PenPals.
That’s why all worked together to create the ABC Toolkit: a simple, powerful and free set of resources to help breakfast clubs become allergy-aware, inclusive, and joyful places for every child.
